“That Wonderful Era…” – The Magic of Čiurlionis’ Era at the Palanga Kurhaus.
The 13th International M. K. Čiurlionis Music Festival invites you to a special evening where various musical eras and styles will intertwine – from the delicate lyricism of Romanticism to the luminous qualities of early Modernism. This concert will feature renowned works spanning both vocal and instrumental music, drawing listeners into an emotionally rich and profound musical world.
On this exceptional evening, we will hear the marvelous Polish tenor Adam Zdunikowski. The tenor has made a name for himself on prestigious stages around the world, performing with world-class orchestras and conductors such as Lorin Maazel, Noam Sheriff, Jiri Belohlavek, Jonas Kovacs, among others. Throughout his musical journey, Zdunikowski has also collaborated with globally acclaimed artists such as Renato Bruson, Lucia Aliberti, Alberto Cupido, and many more.
Another highlight of the concert is the performance by violin and viola virtuoso Maciej Jaroń. The artist captivates not only with his technique but also with his deep musical interpretations. During the concert, Maciej will present works by his renowned compatriots Henryk Wieniawski and Ignacy Jan Paderewski.
Both performers will be accompanied by one of Poland’s most distinguished pianists, Artur Jaroń, known for his mastery and ability to create a unique musical atmosphere.

ABOUT THE PERFORMERS:
ADAM ZDUNIKOWSKI – tenor, graduated in vocal studies from the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and in cultural institution management from the University of Warsaw. Since 1990, he has been a soloist with the Polish National Opera, performing more than 70 opera roles as well as numerous oratorios and cantatas.
He is a laureate of both Polish and international vocal competitions and has worked with renowned conductors such as Lorin Maazel, Kurt Masur, Nello Santi, and Jerzy Semkow. He has also shared the stage with global stars including Renato Bruson, Lucia Aliberti, and Soile Isokoski.
Throughout his career, Zdunikowski has sung on some of the world’s most prestigious opera stages, including Prague’s Narodni Divadlo, the Sofia National Opera, and the Hamburg State Opera, and has participated in high-profile projects and premieres.
He is also a lecturer at the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz and at the Białystok branch of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music. In 2011, he was awarded the Silver Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis.

ARTUR JAROŃ, born in Kielce, Poland, graduated from the Academy of Music in Kraków under Professor Irena Sijalova-Vogel. He completed his master’s studies at the Odessa Conservatory under Professor Anatoly Karadshev, and later honed his skills with legendary pianists Vera Gornostayeva and Günther Ludwig. Jaroń is a well-known soloist and chamber musician, having performed with many notable symphony orchestras – including Sinfonia Varsovia, the Polish Radio Chamber Orchestra “Amadeus,” and the Polish Radio and Television Orchestra.
He frequently performs abroad – in Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Slovakia, Ukraine, and elsewhere. As a chamber musician, he has collaborated with Teresa Żylis-Gara, Małgorzata Walewska, Wiesław Ochman, and Adam Zdunikowski. He also accompanies top violin soloists such as Liudmyla Worobec-Witek, Saskia Szreder, Bartłomiej Nizioł, and interpreters of Henryk Wieniawski’s works. In 2005, he performed at Carnegie Hall in New York.
Jaroń is the director of the Kielce Music College and has received numerous awards for his musical achievements and contributions. He has made several recordings, including the rarely performed Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Concerto for Piano and Violin with Liudmyla Worobec-Witek.
MACIEJ JAROŃ is a versatile and talented musician who began studying violin at the age of seven. He completed his performance studies at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz and pursued postgraduate studies at the Menuhin Academy in Switzerland, studying under Maxim Vengerov, Oleg Kaskiv, and Ivan Vukčević. In 2022, he graduated with honors in viola performance from the Wrocław Academy of Music.
Maciej is a laureate of numerous international competitions and has performed across Europe, Asia, and South America. He collaborates with various orchestras and also performs klezmer music, having recorded several CDs. Currently, he plays viola with the Świętokrzyska Philharmonic and teaches violin in Kielce, Poland.
The 13th International M. K. Čiurlionis Music Festival is part of the jubilee program “Čiurlionis 150.”
